About this product
Henna and katam have been used together across Yemen and the wider Arabian Peninsula for generations. Katam is added to henna to shift the result away from henna’s natural red tone towards a darker brown or near-black finish, which is why the two are so often combined.
How to use
Mix the powder with warm water to a smooth paste and leave it to stand. Apply to clean, dry hair section by section, working from the roots outwards. Cover the hair and leave in place for several hours, then rinse with water. Colour deepens over the following day or two as it oxidises.
Good to know
Always patch test on a small area of skin and a hidden strand of hair before full application, and wear gloves. Results vary with natural hair colour, hair porosity and how long the paste is left on.
